Bob Scobey's Frisco Band was an integral part of that West Coast Dixie sound, holding forth in California and Chicago from 1949 to 1960.  His countless club appearances, including a three year stint at Victor & Roxie's, were augmented by television appearances on Rusty Draper's show in 1952 and 1953.  During his career he introduced the great Clancy Hayes on banjo and used the amazing Rich Matteson on helicon for several recordings.  This 1959 release of Rompin' & Stompin' finds Rich roaring and grooving along like only he could, along with the addition of pianist Art Hodes.
