Merle Evans - Music from the Big Top
"Merle's "Pick-of-the-litter" All-Stars
REALLY CRANK on this one!"

When Everest Records approached legendary circus bandmaster Merle Evans in 1959 to create "Music From the Big Top", they gave him carte blanche, in essence telling him to "Put together your dream band for this recording!"

Sadly, the personnel are not listed on this album, but it's a sure bet the tuba section is Harvey Phillips and probably Johnny Evans. When you listen to this band, you'll soon realize that virtuosos are represented on every single instrument in the group! The playing is crisp, precise, powerful and responsive. And it's all captured beautifully on the process Everest used, recording everything on 35mm magnetic film. The result is a truly high-fidelity recording presenting Merle Evans and His All-Star Circus Band in a splendid soundscape.

You'll Enjoy Hearing:

Robbins Brothers Triumphal March
The Walking Frog
Embossing the Emblem
The Booster
International Vaudeville
Dusty Trombone
Gallito (Spanish March)
Thunder and Lightning (Polka)
Siamese Parade
Valse Bleue
The Southerner
Walsenburg Galop

"Music from the Big Top" is ONLY $6.95!
