Studying under legendary tubists Bill Bell
(Principal Tuba, the John Phillip Sousa Band, Principal Tuba, the New York Philharmonic), Harvey Phillips
(The "Paganini of the Tuba") and tuba/euphonium jazz virtuoso Rich Matteson, this Davenport native has recenlty returned home to enjoy a bit more fishing.
David Gannett has performed, recorded and toured with
The Boston Symphony, The Boston Pops, The Don Ellis band, Dave Brubeck, Peggy Lee, Bob Hope, Bette Midler, Mel Torme', Henry Mancini, Johnny Mathis, Ray Charles and a host of other popular entertainers.

Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus, Walt Disney World (staff musician, band leader, recording artist), Epcot Center, MGM Studios, Rosie O'Grady's, the Mickey Finn Show, Universal Studios, Sea World and the
Delta Queen Steamboat Company. As a founding member of the popular
Black Dog Jazz Band, he was privileged to perform an historic concert at the Great Wall of China. He continues to tour worldwide with the Black Dogs.
While not performing, he enjoys flying as an instrument-rated commercial pilot. An accomplished stereo photographer, his travels to Israel and Egypt include archeological expeditions which he has documented in digital 3D for Dr. Carl Baugh's
Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas. During the day, Mr. Gannett works as a stained glass artist for
Glass Heritage restoring and preserving historic stained glass.
